America’s Not Buying Your Lies, Mitt Romney

MSNBC Fox-Lite Anchor Alex Witt

If you’re like me and your lousy cable company doesn’t carry CurrentTV, you’re stuck on weekends watching MSNBC. After #UpWithChris and #MHP, you’re immediately bombarded with “Mitt Romney Better than Obama on the Economy” polls Alex Witt found on some damned Heritage Foundation site. I won’t even begin to express my frustration at the MSNBC Morning Joe/Daily Rundown/Jansing & Co line up. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think these anchors worked for Fox. As far as Mitt goes, his record of corporate dismemberment at Bain Capital has bankrupted thousands of Americans. Watch When Mitt Romney Came to Town As a matter of fact, Mitt has been abysmal on job creation while Governor of Massachusetts. As Massachusetts governor, Romney had an unremarkable record on jobs.

Romney has also been pretty lame on his character judgement. Nugent, a has-been rocker turned NRA spokesman was an endorsement he actually sought. Romney’s Sleazy Support of Ted Nugent Reveals His true Character. This is a great read by my friend Rmuse over at PoliticusUSA

His positions on Abortion, NRA, Gay Marriage and Universal Healthcare have literally been turned upside down. One might say he’s a yoga master of political posturing. Conservatives have basically settled for him because he was the least awful candidate, not because he represents them well. However, his malleability into anything his handlers wish him to be has rallied the base around their true mantra: Anyone but the Black Guy…Vote GOP

As far as economic comparisons, President Obama has been outstanding. His list of accomplishments is pretty damned impressive. For a full list of accomplishments see President Obama’s Accomplishments Number 244 and Growing

President Obama

For more information on Barack Obama’s 1st term as president check out Guggenheim’s ‘The Road We’ve Traveled’ film trailer released by Politico. I truly believe the media, especially Fox Daytime at MSNBC, is trying to create a real contest where there truly isn’t one. President Obama will win in a landslide. Our future and Supreme Court depends on it!

No Self-Respecting Woman Can Vote For You, Mitt Romney!

Mitt Romney & SC Gov Haley

Most women, Democratic or Republican whom I speak with agree on 1 thing at least 95% of the time: we should be able to access reliable, safe medical care and should have autonomy over our bodies. Even the GOP ladies seem to favor policies that allow them the right to choose what’s best for them sans government intervention. Because of, say a bad habit, they then vote the other way, for the Misogynist Party, the GOP. This baffles the daylights out of me.

Mitt, by putting his wife out there for everyone to see, evoked a bit of criticism regarding her privileged and pampered lifestyle. Her stay at home mom job
was a noble profession and required hard work on her part. Hard work accompanied by servants, drivers and assistants mind you. But now, Mitt has the audacity to insist that mothers of young children who are less fortunate require the dignity only found by working a real job. So his wife wasn’t dignified? This is our first issue with women and the Romney double standard.

Then there’s Nikki Haley, a possible VP pick, who claims women care little about contraception.
Yeah right. ” And as for contraception – THAT was settled before you graduated from Harvard Law School. If “faith-based” organizations receiving public money or subsidies in the form of tax breaks don’t like laws that require them to treat women equally, they are completely free to forfeit those subsidies and tax breaks and do what they please. “Faith based” organizations are not people — they don’t have any more right to decide which laws they want to obey than does any other organization. Oh, and by the way, no one asked me whether I wanted to contribute my tax dollars to illegal, immoral and unnecessary wars.”
See The Daily Kos as linked below

We won’t be fooled by Teabagging Haley any more than Palin! Give us a little credit.

Please check out Romney, Meet Our Mothers
As quoted, “Your belief that you (or anyone) have any business interfering with a woman’s decision to complete or terminate a pregnancy (a Constitutional right) is anathema to me. Frankly, I don’t give a damn about your religious principles. Please save them for church, as I do. The United States still isn’t a theocracy, and I have every bit as much of a right to my views as you do to yours; they end where my body (or the bodies of other women who disagree with you) begins.”

Imagine us women who are without God or organized religion having to live by theocratic doctrine created by men?! It’s pretty sickening for us. Don’t think for a second your economic expertise could sway us and make us forget you follow a charlatan of the likes of Joseph Smith. We know what you did with your Bain Capital. If corporations are people, my friend, then you Mitt, are a serial killer. See Bain Capital Kills Jobs

It’s simply amazing how someone from a religion that, until recently didn’t allow blacks or women to hold the priesthood is allowed to avoid all questions regarding his “Faith”. I could honestly give 2 shits what anyone believes as long as they don’t legislate to discriminate based on their faith. Hopefully this photo doesn’t offend you But Daniel knocked it out of the park with this statement.

Let’s hope the theocratic ideas of the right wing hypocrites don’t away the female population enough to elect this dangerous misogynist as president. He didn’t even know what the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was and if he supported it. Women, let’s face facts, Romney wants you as a supporting cast in his religion and his life. Not a valued, viable member of society. He won’t apologize for being born with a silver spoon in his mouth but he should apologize to the less fortunate, poor moms who struggle everyday with cost of living increases without commensurate wage increases. Just CEO’s like you, Mitt seem to catch all the breaks.

Romney’s Dressage Horses Cost 7 Figures, Yet the Obamas are Elitist?

UPDATE: Ann Romney’s horse and rider qualify for Olympics…. I guess money can buy anything, even the right to compete in the Olympics.

Ann Romney & her Dressage

We hear it all the time, the “Liberal Elite”, The “Liberal Media” even his own FoxNews, all have been accused of being unkind to the Romneys. They’ve all accused Mitt and company of being out of touch with average Americans. Yet here’s a prime example of the elitism of the GOP front runner’s life being so far out of touch, I had to look up the terms affiliated with one of their hobbies.

As I read The Ann Romney Wars, I learned the horses cost seven figures, the saddles cost four figures, and are accompanied by a veterinarian, a blacksmith as well as unbelievably massive transportation costs. They even require their own personal Farrier, quite the specialized profession. Mitt and Ann have been seen in Europe purchasing these animals and have owned up to eight at one time. Yet he criticizes President Obama for occasionally playing a round of golf.

I have nothing against the fabulously wealthy. I do, however, take issue with people from this exclusive world slashing budgets on poor people. Romney showed his true privileged colors clear as day when he said he fully supports the Ryan Budget. See Ryan Budget fails the poor for more information. He said even this budget is courageous. Courageous? It’s courageous to cut funding for young poor children, the disabled and the elderly? No! It’s simply inhumane. It’s because they simply have NEVER struggled with financial problems. Ask their Farrier.
As an animal lover I hope he treats these horses well. As a person, and compassionate liberal, I feel for my fellow American human beings who are less fortunate. He seems to want them to have dignity by working. He even said this, see Welfare Recipients Need Dignity, Even New Mothers. Meanwhile, the criticism of Ann Romney of being out of touch because she’s truly never had to work outside the home caused a ridiculous uproar. She hasn’t, let’s be honest. She never has had to struggle with child-care costs and the price of gas. She’s far too unsympathetic to be MITT’S ECONOMIC ADVISOR. She simply doesn’t know.

Meanwhile, today on the domestic front, Romney is out on the stump criticizing Obama for a factory that was closed under Bush, by Bain Capital, and reopened under Obama. But that’s another blog altogether.

Obama Derangement Syndrome: an Encounter

Here’s an account of a simple encounter at a gas station. It kind of puts the opposition to our president in perspective. Not atypical of the fine human beings you may find in Las Vegas.

My mother and son went to a local gas station/car wash/convenience store. There was a large white male, heavily tatted speaking loudly on his cell phone waiting in line. When the 2 walked in, with my son wearing his Obama 2012 t-shirt, the man went ballistic. He said, “oh my god, I’m gonna be sick. This woman and her son walked in and he’s wearing a fucking Obama shirt.” Loudly, he continued, “yeah, I already ordered my Nøbama shirt.”

Obviously they weren’t about to engage this delectable creature. My son said, “wow, that’s really racist”. He came to this conclusion because he felt the man strikingly resembled a member of the Aryan Brotherhood. My mom said, “looks like someone’s watching a little too much Fox News.”. They said this in his direction and went on with their business. There’s nothing more of a colossal waste of time than trying to reason with a racist, right wing hate-monger.

From the disrespect quite apparent by the Birther Conspiracy and the pictures commonly found at a Teaparty rally (pic of Obama at Teaparty Rally) we see a level of ridicule unprecedented in this country.

I’m just glad none of the adult males in my house were present. I might be posting bail today if that were the case.

Atheists Can’t Win The Whitehouse & Why That Sucks

Thomas Jefferson 3rd US President

People say this is a nation of God. It is such a predominant part of a candidate’s electability. Unfortunately, people don’t realize, most of the founding fathers were actually followers of Deism Thomas Jefferson always questioned his beliefs. He said,
“Fix Reason firmly in her seat. . . . Question with boldness even the existence of a God. . . . Do not be frightened from this enquiry by any fear of its consequences. If it end in a belief that there is no God, you will find incitements to virtue in the comfort and pleasantness you feel in its exercise and in the love of others which it will procure for you.” I ask, how can our morals be rigidly bound by ancient texts rather than guided and modified by reason and compassion?”. This statement would terrify Michelle Bachmann. Jefferson, for merely having uttered it, would have been labeled a godless heathen & smeared out of government. Let’s face it.

Why is this the case? Why must we be believers in a book created by man based on third or fourth hand accounts of unsubstantiated pre-scientific era miracles? Watch Eyewitness Accounts of Miracles Remember, I’m not trying to be offensive. “Let me assure you that my intent is not to offend or merely be provocative. I’m simply worried.”
― Sam Harris

What’s really telling is this poll:
A 1999 Gallup poll conducted to determine Americans’ willingness to tolerate a Jewish president (Joseph Lieberman was the Democratic candidate for Vice President at the time). Here are the percentages of people saying they would refuse to vote for “a generally well-qualified person for president” on the basis of some characteristic; in parenthesis are the figures for earlier years:

Catholic: 4% (1937: 30%)
Black: 5% (1958: 63%, 1987: 21%)
Jewish: 6% (1937: 47%)
Baptist: 6%
Woman: 8%
Mormon: 17%
Muslim: 38%
Gay: 37% (1978: 74%)
Atheist: 48%
Us non-believers are the least likely to be elected. Does anyone ever consider the possibility this president or several others have maybe pretended to believe? I believe that probability is likely.

Here’s a notion to ponder:
“According to the most common interpretation of biblical prophecy, Jesus will return only after things have gone horribly awry. Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency.” (Sam Harris)

It is troubling for those of us without religion how our leaders believe in such things as the Rapture or an afterlife of everlasting bliss and forgiveness. In my opinion (as stated by Sam Harris) “People who harbor strong convictions without evidence belong at the margins of our societies, not in our halls of power. The only thing we should respect in a person’s faith is his desire for a better life in this world; we need never have respected his certainty that one awaits him in the next.” These people are dangerous. Their beliefs are irrational and detrimental to the here and now. Live to make this world better, not some afterlife.

Romney Camp Backs Away from Nugent After Seeking His Approval

Tagg Romney tweeted this: “Ted Nugent endorsed my Dad today. Ted Nugent? How cool is that?! He joins Kid Rock as great Detroit musicians on team Mitt!” This was a little over a month ago. Now, following Nugent’s incendiary remarks, Team Romney seems to do what they’ve done so often in the past. They are flip-flopping again. This time, after Nugent says “If Obama wins reelection, a year from now I’ll either be dead or in jail. See Romney Campaign Backs Away From Nugent’s Anti-Obama Remark

Nugent in 2007

Can anyone imagine if Obama had actively sought the endorsement of a controversial, albeit violence advocating celebrity? I’m sure we all remember the Jeremiah Wright controversy. The pastor spoke not directly about Obama, yet somehow our President had to explain away the opinions of someone not involved in the campaign. The double standard is quite obvious. If Obama sought out Eminem, and then he spoke about the GOP being “beheaded,” I’m sure Fox News would run it on a reel 24/7.

Jeremiah Wright

Not only is the rhetoric from the Nugent character inflammatory, but his history is quite tattered with very questionable behavior. The man has 8 children with 6 different women. He was involved with a 17-year-old in 1978 which awarded him as #63 in Spin Magazine’s 100 sleaziest rock moments. Check out Personal Life of Ted Nugent Barack Obama can’t even know someone with this type of sordid past without a scrutiny never bestowed on a president in our lifetime.

It is rather humorous how the Romney campaign can do a 180 on pretty much any and all issues/people and the GOP doesn’t bat an eyelash. I truly believe the motivation to beat Obama is just not going to be enough for this candidate. Mitt Romney is far too dirty and unlikable to convince the bigots and haters out there to get off their couches (as Chris Christie admonishes) and cast a vote for the Liberal/Moderate/Conservative Candidate of the GOP. For the sake of all those not in the 1%, I sure as hell hope I am right!

The shiftier the character, the more Mitt seeks their attention. Ted Nugent

Why is it permissible for Mitt to actively seek the endorsement of a violently unstable gun lunatic like Ted Nugent after saying the things he’s said as of late. He’s literally threatened beheading democrats. That’s pretty damned violent. The secret service is looking into some of his insane rantings. Delusional commentators generally worry the secret service primarily because these are unstable, violent people. Ted was courting them, literally daring them to act, and act quickly. We must mobilize and go into battle to behead the democrats this fall. This sounds to me like a provocation. Almost, an act of treason. Let’s hope the secret service kicks this guy’s treasonous ass..

This is insane, the double standard displayed prominently right in front of all of us. Romney seeks the attention of an unstable violent man and is proud. A democratic pundit who works for CNN, not the Obamas, said the absolute truth, Ann Romney hasn’t worked a day in her freaking pampered life, and she gets thrown under the bus. They are masters of deception. Machiavellian in their machinations of mental gymnastics. Let’s hope the rest of the country can see this deceptive snake oil salesman panderer for who he is….a gutless, soulless sellout to the highest bidder.
