Workers and Women Will Know Their Place With Mormons in Charge

25 Oct

Have you noticed the increase in pernicious GOP dirty tricks currently being exposed during this election, which is now at its apex? Sadly, perhaps half of this superficial, material-obsessed country feels this sketchy Mormon candidate is a step up from President Obama, who’s saved us from a depression. They believe Mitt Romney’s assertion he’s going to “fix” the economy by restoring the policies of the Bush crime family, who, as we all know, has wreaked havoc on the U.S. and the world’s economies.

It’s no wonder he idolizes a master manipulator like his cult founder, Joseph Smith. Like Smith, except in a more grandiose way, Willard Romney has helped this cult fraudulently dupe millions of adherents out of billions of dollars. Romney is the manifestation of Smith’s White Horse Prophecy coming to fruition if elected to the highest office in the land. It is also their last hope, because if the GOP is dealt the crushing blow they so richly deserve, their right-wing Teaparty agenda will fade into oblivion (albeit slowly) as will the desperate proponents of the Mormon Cult. Romney and Ryan long to bring America “back” to the days where both women and the proletarian “working stiffs” knew their place and wouldn’t dare demand equal rights.

Will this be the America of the future?

When your candidate speaks fondly of a trip to what is essentially a Chinese sweatshop, where workers sleep on premises, twelve to a room for pennies an hour, you know this callous man cares little for AMERICAN workers and their families. It’s obvious a couple of entitled boys born with silver spoons in their mouths will never understand there is such a thing as the working poor. “Job creator” is just code for we really could care less about the poor and are preoccupied with anti-abortion legislation. Willard Romney’s main objective is to harvest human labor for profit. His specious sophist of a running mate has legislated little other than laws to restrict women’s rights when it comes to their own bodies. Ryan and Romney are controlled by Teaparty puppet strings, so you know it will only get worse if they’re elected based on previous behavior.

Paul Ryan’s Teaparty Congress Legislated Nothing But Abortions

Mormons and many of their GOP cohorts have shown a severe distaste for workers’ rights and unions. There is a history of nepotism and cronyism in the Mormon Church unlike any other group, so if you’re not one of the indoctrinated, you’re undeserving of a promised life. You are also a second class citizen if you happen to be a woman as well.

Not only did Romney never say he’d support the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, his cult has a patriarchal bias. If only the media would ask a few relevant questions. Just once I’d like to hear this asked to the Mormon candidate: If a person believes that god is a patriarch who rules over multiple wives, that likewise practicing said polygamy is an eternal requirement to be with him in the “highest degree of the celestial kingdom” in the afterlife, and that only men can have priesthood power to run and administer god’s church on earth, can I truly trust that person to fight for and defend absolutely equal rights for women in society via legislation and judicial decisions? The Mormon Cult is desperate for new converts and looks mainly to the less educated Third World for more brainwashing.

20121026-085756.jpg

We all know exactly what these two will do. They will roll back the clocks to the good ol days, say pre-1890, when polygamy was legal and install activist misogynist justices on the Supreme Court while removing all semblance of parity when it comes to workers’ rights. As Edmond Burke wisely noted, those who ignore history are destined to repeat it. Make no mistake, Romney and Ryan long to repeat all the mistakes of the Bush Administration and then make a few more colossal whoppers that will most assuredly propel the United States into Third World status. History has taught us no less.

Massachusetts Would Be Wise To Avoid Romney and His GOP

28 Sep

Perhaps Massachusetts’ flirtation period with the GOP is in its twilight. Current Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick (D) said, “I can tell you,…he was a great salesman who was more interested in having the job than doing it,” describing Mitt Romney’s tenure as Governor of the New England Commonwealth. This seems to be the same attitude he possesses about the job at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He wants the power, but really has no intention of using it to benefit the majority of his “subjects.”

This was a man who never concerns himself with minutia like the passage of bills to fund the prevention of hate crimes, he’d rather keep his state on a par in job creation with then Katrina-ravaged Louisiana . While governor, the state’s total job growth was just 0.9 percent, well behind other high-wage, high-skill economies in New York (2.7), California (4.7), and North Carolina (7.6). The national average, meanwhile, was better than 5 percent. Dismal as these numbers are, what’s more telling is Romney’s current poll numbers in his “home” state. President Obama leads Romney 60 percent to 38 percent in the Bay State, a veritable beat down of epic proportions, a pummeling he richly deserves. This similar performance by his TeaParty darling supporter, Senator Scott Brown shows just how little these men care for the state they so poorly represent.

Senator Scott Brown and Willard Romney

Former Cosmopolitan Magazine centerfold and Wall Street favorite, Scott Brown, has shown little concern for the majority of the citizens of Massachusetts. Although he is trying to distance himself from Romney’s 47% remark at a private fundraiser, he has shown he holds a similar world view. He’s a pro-big oil, anti-women, anti-welfare, teabagging Conservative who seems to be losing his allure. He recently proclaimed Justice and Fascist Antonin Scalia as his favorite member of the Supreme Court.

Massachusetts has an abysmal record of electing women in US Senate races, as there has never been a female Senator from the state. Remarkably, his opponent, Elizabeth Warren, has a lead in most polls. If Massachusetts has more sense than the folks in Missouri poised to elect legitimate rape advocate, Todd Akin (R), we should, by all accounts, see the first female Senator from the state. Even with the ugliness of the racial attack on her Cherokee heritage, she still has a fight on her hands that the rest of the country is watching closely.

It seems Massachusetts has gambled with Republicans in the state whose politics has been primarily formed by a Kennedy legacy of service. JFK, RFK and Ted Kennedy, among other greats from the state, have served their populace with dignity and consideration. These nouveau right wing figure heads who have shown nothing more than a politicians look with zero substance are perhaps just a blemish on the Democratic history of Massachusetts. The state was and still is a great voice in a democracy that has no use for shallow, morally bankrupt men like Willard Romney and Scott Brown.

Ann Romney Believes Women Should Know Their Place

22 Sep

As a woman fortunate enough to have had an upbringing where I was always taught that women and men are equals, I’d like to presume the First Lady of my country would instill similar values in other American girls. If her speech at the Republican National Convention showed her true feelings on the matter of feminine equality, it’s painfully obvious Ann Romney believes a woman should know her place, which is in the role of dutiful wife and doting mother. She firmly believes in the supremacy of men just as her adopted Mormon cult dictates. After all, a Mormon woman can only enter the gates of the celestial kingdom with the consent of her husband. Any woman exhibiting desires eschewed by the values ascribed by the Mormon cult is simply anomalous to her entitled and privileged way of life. She is perhaps the worst spokesman for the twenty-first century American female there ever was.

Ann Romney firmly believes a woman should unequivocally be a partner to a man, both in this life and the still unproven hereafter. Not only did she fail to acknowledge women in ANY professional capacity in her RNC speech, she failed to acknowledge single, lesbian or childless women (to name a few) as integral female members of a productive society. She’s so averse to answering questions regarding her own professional aspirations , she cancels any interview inquiring on the matter. Although raised largely without formal religion, (Episcopalian with a touch of atheism) she believes what the Mormon scriptures profess: By bearing and nurturing children, women are saved because they have learned to perform Heavenly Mother’s work. In other words, women truly have no other earthly function than to serve the man and bear him children. This is very similar to the Muslim faith. The role of the Muslim woman is clearly defined and outlined in Islam. In short her primary role is with the upbringing of her children and in being a dutiful wife. A woman’s job, in her worldview, is to be simply a mother and wife above all things. Funny how similar the two faiths are, much to the disapproval of unbeknownst Republicans. Ann’s very own atheist father Edward Davies was baptized into the Mormon Church posthumously, something he would definitely have objected to while alive. Her arrogance and presumption prevent her from seeing just how offensive this is.

She serves her husband also by staunchly defending his right to leading a privileged and entitled existence, free from the customary scrutiny thrust upon the life of a presidential candidate. “Have you seen how we’re attacked?,” Ann Romney said in an interview in mid August, hitting the table with her hand for emphasis. “Have you seen what’s happened?…. “It will just give them more ammunition.” These are the words of a wealthy corporate wife who is outraged her husband is under the microscope while running for the most powerful elected office on earth. She’s assuming they’ll be attacked further if they release more, so that pretty much means there’s something in those returns that’s worthy of “attack” — at least by folks who are paying taxes at a much higher rate, who are perhaps keeping their monies in these United States. “Stop it. This is hard, you wanna try it, get in the ring,” she whined earlier this week following the legendary Mother Jones video of Mitt Romney showing a rare candid example of the contempt he shows for low income Americans and the futility of garnering their vote. She was quoted by a few ladies close to her as having said “My horse has more style and more class in its hoof than they (Democrats) do in their whole deal.” Clearly this couple cares little for the middle class and their disdain is starting to manifest itself everytime they open their mouths.

20120923-062148.jpg

(Not an actual Michelle Obama quote)

Willard Romney believes his wife is his spokesperson for “what women want”. Unfortunately, women are not the monolithic wealthy, corporate white woman Mitt believes Ann is a typical representative. Perhaps Willard’s experience as a fairly omnipotent LDS “prophet” throughout much of his life has shielded him from the reality that the world is nothing like his sanitized view of entitled corporate personhood. It is very apparent she too doesn’t see the forest through the trees when it comes to women’s real world issues. Not every girl aspires to be a stay at home mom, not every girl can be that person for a myriad reasons. Frankly, this woman becoming First Lady is a gigantic leap backwards of all the progress women made in the twentieth century. Actually, given the obvious Republican war on women, what better representative for their antiquated Puritanical views on women than Queen Ann? If America elects this entitled couple it’s because of one of two reasons: they’ve suppressed the vote sufficiently or we’re so unbelievably ignorant as a people, we deserve this impending nightmare.

Bain Orders Workers: Train Your Chinese Replacements, Then Say Goodbye to Your Job

16 Sep

20120917-071554.jpg

The irony continues with the Romney campaign. His latest barrage of false attacks on President Obama are touting the recent mass exodus of jobs to China. Interestingly enough, Romney has been quite instrumental in that shameful profit-driven action. In order to protest the outsourcing of their American jobs, workers at the Freeport, Illinois Sensata Technologies Factory (a Bain subsidiary), began to camp outside the factory in protest of the venture capital firm’s decision to ship their jobs to China. They’ve labeled the tent city Bainport, in the hopes of attracting the attention of the GOP presidential candidate and current benefactor of Sensata profits, Willard Mitt Romney. Originally the company was owned by Honeywell but sold to Sensata in 2010. The employees, pleading for the very same jobs some have held for over four decades drafted a letter:

We work at Sensata Technologies in Freeport, Illinois — a company owned by Bain Capital, which you started, ran, and still profit from.

Our jobs are about to be outsourced to China. More than 150 of us will lose our jobs — and some of us have worked here for over 40 years. The worst indignity is that many of us are being asked to train the Chinese workers who are taking our jobs.

It’s not right that our good American jobs are being sent to China. It’s not right that you stand to get even richer off of our loss and pain.
We are not going down without a fight. We join together today to call on you to save our jobs.”

Workers outside “Bainport” in Freeport, Ill.

Willard and Bain worship the profit more than Mitt’s prophet and cult founder, Joseph Smith. Not only does this man have brass ones, but a heart which must have been assembled at the very factories he closes to outsource the livelihood of countless Americans. The human casualties at the hands of Bain Capital are stacking up and this is just another example.

The Sensata workers reported that management took down the American flags from the flag poles in front of the building before the Chinese delegation took a tour of the facility, and returned the flags after the Chinese left. Ironically, the protesting workers being are being labeled “communists” by Mitt Romney supporters while the factory and the job are planned for relocation in Communist China!

Tom Gaulrapp and Cheryl Randecker, employees of Sensata Technologies for 33 years went to Tampa and called upon Mitt Romney to help save their jobs. Obviously these efforts were ignored by most of the media, except for the good folks at Democracy Now!

It sure seems like Mitt is following the Karl Rove playbook to a “T”. One of his plans is this: To play the race card and appeal to the far right wing fringe of voters who are leery of an African American in the White House. Make Obama appear as if he’s the one who’s the foreigner, he’s the outsider, he’s the one who’s actually in favor of shipping jobs to China. However, Americans are no longer ignoring the harsh realities; no one is more guilty of this egregious practice than Willard Romney. It is a diabolical plan, but pesky folks like these workers in Freeport, Illinois may just put a damper on this evil strategy. I sure hope they succeed. Mitt Romney has no business being anywhere near the White House. Support the workers and visit the Bainport Site. These folks deserve a fair shot at the American Dream. Sign the petition on behalf of the workers HERE.

There is A Romney We Should All Listen To, and It’s Not Mitt

1 Sep

Everything I have learned about Mitt Romney, (which is quite a bit as I’ve been researching my President’s opponent for quite some time) has shown him to be a pure opportunist in every sense of the word. He has quite a flair for the fallacious. “Romney isn’t the first national politician to try to deceive the public, but he’s arguably the first to build his entire campaign around the deceptions”.

Park Romney‘s father and Mitt’s (late) father are 1st cousins. That makes Mitt and Park 2nd cousins. They share the great grandfather, Miles Park Romney, in common. Mitt’s line comes from Miles Park’s 1st wife. Park’s line comes from Miles Park’s 2nd wife. But Park is everything we wished Mitt would be. He’s insightful, philosophical, brilliant, principled, and utterly devoted to social justice. Unlike his second cousin, he craves knowledge and truth and will not shun logic, reason and morality simply to amass political power and obscene wealth. Park is a rare breed: he seeks knowledge to further his evolution as a thinking person, not to gain material wealth. If wealth was measured by the content of someone’s brain, he’d have a few yachts in the Caymans himself. His wealth is measured by truly living a moral life without compromising his principled values.

If you read Dana Milbank’s Washington Post article, you’d think Park Romney was an incredulous source of derogatory information about Mormonism, kind of a quirky family member of the likes of Roger Clinton. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Park has given very few interviews, the only one I know about, by the BBC, was edited in such a way to present him as an outcast. This is wrong and I know this because I had the privilege of speaking with him on the matter. Our conversation provided much of the insight I needed to understand how people are indoctrinated into this “faith.” Park chose to leave the Mormon church (a.k.a. cult to many) and was not “shunned” as they put it. He makes those who are still under their sphere of influence very uncomfortable because he presents truth and facts that will invalidate their entire belief system and render their sociological structure null and void. Naturally, he will be depicted as an extremist with an axe to grind. But notoriety and fame isn’t his goal. He craves honesty and fairness in a society that’s obviously losing these values.

Park explains,”It is my belief that he (Mitt) is the walking epitome of the ultimate manifestation of Mormon Epistemology. A prolonged diet of this type of social dynamic renders the candidate increasingly intellectually incapable of even recognizing the absurdity of his own public contradictions and misrepresentations and absolutely unaware as to how obvious they are to others. It is a dangerous man who fancies himself “called of God” while being devoid of the intellectual discipline of meaningful self-reflection. This is the product of Mormon Epistemology.”

Very few Mormons leave the faith for the simple fact it is very difficult to disentangle one’s personal and business lives from the machinations of the church. It’s baffling to me why so many seemingly intelligent people buy into this wholly ridiculous and unscientific fable. Park helped me understand why they continue to live an epistemological lie. 1. You don’t question or doubt scripture and authority 2. Anyone who does is influenced by Satan. Period. That circular argument prevents dissent among the faithful. Mormon epistemology imposes a massive level of guilt and fear upon its members which proves to be an effective formula to keep the numbers up.

Park Romney’s exposes the darker side of Mitt’s faith

Willard Romney is a prime example of how this “cult” (as its been labeled by millions of former Mormons) has shaped him. Remember, he has always been revered for his wealth because Mormons equate money with heavenly worthiness. Add his high status as Bishop in the church and you get a man who was never questioned, never doubted and never disrespected. This creates a disconnect with the real problems and emotional issues facing so many Americans. He lives in a sanitized world where he’s been considered godlike, literally. He is deemed “celestial heaven-bound” because of his financial and ecclesiastical accomplishments. Let’s be realistic: Mormonism, more than any other religion, worships the almighty dollar most.

Park said it best here:

Mitt Romney’s religion, Mormonism, which is my former religion, having been a Mormon High Priest, like Mitt still is, is a far bigger issue than most people realize and understand. In our rush to avoid being accused of being bigoted, in America, we have a natural tendency to want to steer clear of this topic. I will be the first to agree that to be arbitrarily dismissive of a man’s candidacy for the office of President, or any office for that matter, on the basis of his religion is definitely bigoted. “Arbitrarily dismissive” is the key phrase here. In the case of Mormonism, we have a very unique situation. Questions about Mormonism for those fully informed of the very real issues are not in the least degree arbitrary. There are very real concerns that millions of former Mormons are very much aware of. This is not simply a question of subjective disagreements on points of faith that really can’t be proved or disproved anyway. In the case of the Mormon Church, I share the view with many others, including people far more scholarly and qualified in other ways than myself, that the Mormon religion is not only an insidious contemporary fraud, but has been demonstrated conclusively to be such by researchers who are alive today and competent to testify on the basis of evidence still available today. Accordingly, the questions that are most important and relevant to Mitt’s candidacy here, since he is a current High Priest of the Mormon Church, are not of religion, but very fair questions of ethics and judgment.

Ethics. That is the primary attribute in a candidate I value. President Obama, for some of his perceived flaws (many are far overblown by the Bain Capital-owned media), has demonstrated an empathy for all humanity: men, women, minorities, LGBT and most importantly, children. I am not even going into the issues of environment and energy as the two parties couldn’t be more different in these areas. The GOP has presented a pro-fetus only campaign which disregards the care for humanity once that fetus emerges into the world kicking and screaming. Pro-death penalty, pro-war, anti-labor and prison-obsessed is not pro-life, no matter how you slice it. There’s a serious lack of ethics in the GOP AND their candidate and that dearth of compassionate principles is far more dangerous to American citizens than most realize.

Park Romney sees a huge wave of selfishness and ignorance culminating in the election of a president many unsuspecting, naive fools may truly deserve. It is the job of us thinking, compassionate Americans to prevent this travesty from occurring. Ask your friends if they’re registered to vote. Bigger numbers favor Democratic candidates, and that’s what the GOP does not want.

If you’re interested in a truly eye-opening perspective on why this religion is completely based on lies, there is an amazing podcast, although long, that explains it perfectly. Go to about 1:30:00 into this podcast by a former Stake President from the U.K. It is truly informative and a must listen for anyone considering Mormonism to be an acceptable modus operandi of a U.S. President. There is no denying the lies inherent in this faith which troubles me and should trouble our citizens. I thank author Kay Burningham for this valuable audio.

Why Christians (and Thinking Americans) Should Fear a Mormon President

26 Aug
20120827-063559.jpg

Is this a man we can trust?

If you read the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of cult, the example given is thus: a Christian theologian can state that, say, the Mormon Church is theologically a cult of Christianity. Funny how I grew up with the notion, as an East Coast girl, that a perfect dictionary definition of a cult were these curious folks known as the Mormons. I truly had no idea what they were all about, but there was an apprehension about their legitimacy as a true “religion” I sensed even before organized religion became utterly preposterous to me. Something is certainly awry with Mormonism Inc. and I’m starting to understand why it is so. Hopefully, America will learn in time of the insidious truths buried deep in this religion/cult to which our GOP nominee is a lifelong devotee. It’s far more relevant than the conservative-owned media would care to admit, and here’s why.

1.) The Mormon Church has a history of sanctioning lying to further the objectives of the church.
In a Mormon Bishop’s account of “Lying for the Lord” he states: “Evidence presented in this essay establishes that when the church image or its leaders needed protection it was and is, okay to fib, deceive, distort, inflate, minimize, exaggerate, prevaricate or lie. You will read quotations by church leaders who admitted that deception is a useful tool to protect the church and its leaders “when they are in a tight spot,” or “to beat the devil at his own game.” They admit engaging in moral gymnastics; that God approves of deception – if it’s done to protect the “Lord’s Church” or “the brethren” as the leaders are called.” The polygamous lifestyle still practiced today in rural Utah, Arizona and Texas, illustrates how deception and misrepresentation of the truth is not just a thing of the past. Secrecy and lying are normal and sanctioned by the “one true word of God,” Mormonism. All practicing Mormons believe in a polygamous afterlife where a man takes as many wives as needed to populate more planets with his progeny.

There is an inherent mistrust of Christians as well. One of the original prophets, Brigham Young, stated: When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was groveling in darkness…With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world. The Christian world… are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God. (Journal of Discourses 8:199)

2.) Stealing from non-Mormons, cover-ups of murders and total historical omissions of events deemed unpropitious to the LDS Church are common. Reading books like The Apostasy of a High Priest by Park Romney and An American Fraud: One Lawyer’s Case Against Mormonism by Kay Burningham have helped me realize the depths of deception, crime and general malevolence that has been carried out in the name of Mormonism. These books are written by church insiders who would rather face the pain and ostracism of leaving the church and all its social networking than live a life based on a lie. These are two people who were among the faithful but learned far too many negatives to continue in the faith. If you study the history of the Mormon settlements and the pioneers who are so revered today, you’d find atrocities committed along the same lines as the way the native Americans were treated by so many settlers using “Manifest Destiny” as a justification for virtual genocide. However, the Mormons were guilty of murdering not just Native Americans, but “white” non-Mormons as in the Mountain Meadows Massacre of 1857 which has been literally sanitized by Utah history books to this day. A gruesome discovery of remains occurred in 1999, but the Mormon Church stifled the news as much as possible to avoid any controversy.

Willard Romney has adopted this same anti-controversial stance as his cult seems to adopt, by changing and “evolving” his beliefs as evidenced by his literal shifting on SO many issues. Park Romney explains: In their quest to cling to the warm and fuzzy feeling of the sweeter moments of their childhood, Mormons go way out of their way to avoid contention. They distance themselves from controversy, when possible, and avoid contributing to it. In this effort, they often overlook what shouldn’t be overlooked, in the name of being forgiving or charitable. They discourage discussion of, and often avoid, controversial issues. The evolution of the concept of Blacks suddenly becoming worthy of the priesthood in 1978 is a prime example of Mormonism “evolving” to accommodate more members and grow their unbelievable wealth from tithings. It seems the patriarchal nature of the religion will always subjugate women to a lower strata on the social scale, omitting them from governing roles.

As far as the acquisition of the vast wealth the Mormons hold (estimated at over $30 billion that we know of), money, property and treasure can be obtained by theft from “Gentiles” and other non-Mormons. In the early twentieth century, Bishop Andrew Cahoon (An American Fraud, chapter 7 pages 154-155) swore in testimony the following doctrine from the original scriptures: “It was considered no crime to take from those who opposed the Church, because they were the enemies of the Kingdom of God.” If you’re wondering about the morality of Willard Romney’s Bain Capital destroying lives, don’t despair. It is acceptable under the guise of the gospel according to Joseph Smith. Willard sleeps just fine at night, knowing the lives he destroyed were not Mormons.

3.) Willard Mitt Romney is first and foremost committed by “blood atonement.” This unwavering oath is cause for concern for any non-Mormon At the time he would have first gone through the temple (age 19 before his mission)—it would have been similar to this person ‘s experience:

The first time I went through the temple was in September 1987. The thing I remember most vividly about that day, besides the naked touching, was the “penalties.” That’s where I was asked to make several blood oaths never to reveal the various signs, tokens and other bizarre things that went on there.
The penalties involved various pantomimes where I had to pass my thumb across my throat, chest and bowels (IIRC) indicating different kinds of suicide while chanting with the rest of the room “rather than do so, I would suffer my life to be taken.” (Short pause after “life” while the slashing motion is made.) That was the moment where I think I stopped caring whether the Mormon church is true or not. I didn’t want to be part of it and felt trapped by my family and partly by these oaths. I didn’t know how serious they were” See exmormon.com

That is blood atonement –that there are some sins which are just too egregious (here revealing temple secrets) that Christ’s sacrifice will not be enough and man must die for this particular type of sin.

This is a little bit confusing because another oath, the oath of vengeance where the patron would promise to never rest until those who killed Joseph and Hyrum Smith and their descendants were killed, was originally also a part of the early temple ceremony but that was removed in 1927 to the doctrines & covenants of the LDS church. This is paramount over the US Constitution. Any Gentile, Jewish or other American, (especially those without theism) should be aware of this primary oath Willard holds dear.

4.) The Church has a RICH history of bigotry and misogyny. Hate legislation towards any group the church disagrees with is common. As testified by Sue Emmett, the great-great-granddaughter of Brigham Young: “In the Mormon culture, men have all the power in the church….Women do an awful lot of work in the church but they don’t really have any ability to have power positions or to make final decisions.” The makeup of the Utah legislature is quite indicative of both a theocracy and male-domination. Their intolerance of homosexual marriage was evidenced by the millions of dollars the church (and Mitt himself) dumped into funding Proposition 8 legislation in California.

In 2002, James E. Shelledy, editor of the Salt Lake Tribune said this (about Utah government): the fact is, we live in a quasi-theocracy. Eighty percent of office-holders are of a single party (GOP), ninety percent of a single religion (LDS), ninety-nine percent of a single race (Caucasian) and eighty-five percent of one gender (male). If you think Romney will run his government and cabinet any differently, you underestimate the role of the LDS Church on Willard’s psyche.

In conclusion….
In an article entitled: Mitt’s Soul isn’t Muffled, it’s Missing, Kay Burningham notes the close ties the LDS church has with Romney and the reluctance of key Mormon players to bring this alliance to the forefront of America’s minds. A grassroots support of his 2008 presidential campaign was initially begun in 2006 by LDS leaders and BYU groups across the nation. A theocracy remains in Utah. Recently, LDS leaders canceled their annual meeting with the Utah State Legislature, before the January Session began. This is something they had previously done for years. The Utah State Congress is over 80% Mormon. But there was concern about how this regular (LDS) pre-session meeting would be interpreted, now that Romney’s running has brought a more national focus on the religion. One congressman commented: “It seemed odd, because there has always been” a pre-session meeting, said House Speaker Becky Lockhart, R-Provo.” The chance that a Romney presidency would be greatly influenced by the Mormon hierarchy is more than remote; despite Romney’s denial of such an influence, it is entirely likely.

I believe it’s high time we look very seriously into this cult and what the man who would be the first Mormon President of the United States truly believes. President Obama’s faith has been under the microscope since day one. Why should Willard, the racist, misogynist Birther be exempt from similar scrutiny?

Nervous GOP Pushes Romney’s Nomination Up

25 Aug

The GOP Convention begins August 27 in Tampa, Florida. Generally, the party’s formal nomination of a candidate has occurred on the day before the candidate is scheduled to speak. Republican candidates have typically been nominated a day ahead of their convention speech. Roll call votes have typically begun later in the convention proceedings than will occur this year, a convention official said. Romney is slated to speak next Thursday. So why is Willard Scheduled to be nominated on Monday rather than Wednesday?

No, it’s not what everyone is thinking. Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to hit the Gulf Coast region on Tuesday.

20120824-095215.jpg

Isaac isn’t the only storm coming to Tampa

The potential hurricane in this equation is the unwavering storm front the Romney campaign has battled incessantly during the past year, the Ron Paul “Revolution”. Enter the P.A.U.L. Festival to an already embroiled GOP “party” and Tampa becomes quite a tumultuous place for Willard and his gang of merry thieves.

20120826-054239.jpg

Willard will accept the nomination Monday and the Fascist-Fest 2012 will culminate with the biggest, rudest windbag of them all, Chris Christie giving the keynote speech. I will try to catch as little of the Pathololgical Lying Misogynist Conference ’12 as I possibly can. It will truly represent the worst group of far right extremists this nation has ever seen: Birthers, Donald Trumps, NRA supporting “open carry” laws at convention and the usual gang of fundamentalist Christians. I wonder if the polygamous sects of the FLDS church will parade out their wives proudly in Tampa? Why not? It fits in with the Freak-Fest motif.
UPDATE: Due to “weather” the GOP has decided to delay the start of its convention until 8/28. Wasn’t that the same date Glenn Beck held his hate rally two years ago? Just sayin’….

The GOP uses Stockholm Syndrome Strategy to Lure Voters

20 Aug

Given today’s extremist right wing ideology flooding the mainstream media, I associated the inexplicable appeal of the GOP to the concept of Stockholm Syndrome, and frankly it chilled me to the bone. Truly, these right wing ideologues have employed the psychological torment in just the right dose to lure voters to do their bidding. Stockholm Syndrome, by definition is: ‘is considered a complex reaction to a frightening situation. Many researchers believe that Stockholm syndrome helps to explain certain behaviors of survivors of World War II concentration camps; members of religious cults (i.e. LDS faithful); battered wives; incest survivors; and physically or emotionally abused children as well as persons taken hostage by criminals or terrorists.’ If you think 9-11 wasn’t used as an instrument of fear and control, you have no idea how powerful and manipulative the Republican party has become.

Hell, they’ve even dragged many Democrats down to their level in pursuit of manufactured conflict with little regard for the cost in blood and treasure, not to mention the financial devastation of much of the globe. One of the consequences, intended or not, was the collapse of the global financial market. When finances are paramount, as Napoleon Bonaparte said so presciently in 1815 ‘…Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.’ That is precisely who this GOP party is today. A group operating under the guise of patriotism while possessing not a single ounce of it.

There are a few psychological manipulations the right wing employs to keep their devoted in line.

1. Religion: the concept of “you are born with original sin” implies a guilt right from the inception of life. This is a general unworthiness most religions employ to keep rank and file in their rightful place: in constant deference and awe of those deemed “rich” or worthy. Look at Willard Romney’s Mormon cult, in which he was a Stake President and Bishop who earned virtual godlike status with the power to excommunicate capriciously. Because he is wealthy and considered successful, regardless of the means employed, he is considered above the fray. Those in lower socioeconomic statuses are convinced they’ve earned their lot in life and should consider the wealthy more virtuous, even if they’ve been unscrupulous con-artists. It is masterful how they dupe poor, ignorant and largely religious folks in to thinking these objectives are in their best interests. Somehow they appeal to people’s fear of the unknown, the concept of eternal damnation (sans any evidence of its existence) and twists the teachings of Jesus (as he was portrayed at least) to worship the almighty dollar. This is also how the fear of negative publicity greatly outweighs the safety of young boys in the Catholic Church (and they’re usually the ones to pay such a dear price.) This is how Republicans keep their supporters in an abusive situation where they feel they are unworthy of a government that actually benefits them. They welcome the abuse. It is a hostage situation where the captured sympathize with their captors.

2.The GOP has become a political party that celebrates ignorance and derides education and relishes in its secrecy. They view government as the enemy, and the hiding of money from the public coffers is now considered a virtue…when you have a group of people that purposely set about to rig the system, they actually take great pride in being able to manipulate and avoid taxes and other patriotic obligations like serving in the military or keeping their vast fortunes in foreign tax shelters and not in American banks. When Reagan expressed his loathing of the concept of a government that actually helps people, which it had done for decades, the trust in the social structure shaped by centuries of political evolution was destroyed within a decade. This is like the hostage-takers being considered more trustworthy (i.e. health insurance companies) than the federal government (i.e. single-payer healthcare). I’m in awe of their resourcefulness in furthering their evil objectives. Simply look how Romney and Ryan are distorting the Medicare benefits and savings contained in the Affordable Care Act to look like they actually care if seniors aren’t truly pushed off a cliff. Make no mistake, these two monsters could care less if we throw grandma from the train.

3. Mind Control through the manipulation of the media and what’s taught or not taught in schools. They’ve even gone so far as to re-segregate schools, especially in the South! They’ve rewritten textbooks to even label the Ku Klux Klan as a positive organization who did more good than harm! They make one feel that anything beneficial to the average voter is considered lustful, forbidden or sinful while policies benefitting the power elite are deemed righteous, chaste and honorable. For example, why should a citizen have the same access to child care, medical care and education as someone who can more easily afford the finest in all these areas? Those at the top convince us they’re better than us, and more deserving of the best that money can buy. If one of us is lucky enough to escape our miserable lot in life, when we make our fortunes, we surely don’t want to have a tax policy that rewards the rest of society who created the means by which we could make our fortune and in return, paying it forward to those on the way up. We should keep it all and other unfortunates should not reap any benefits of MY prosperity. It’s what Jesus or (any of the other deities) would have wanted. They are no more than a means of control, and coming from the party inherently distrustful of authority, it seems almost paradoxical.

When the media is owned by over 90% right wing stations, there’s not much to compete with. We are out gunned by the army of idiots

To these numb nuts, patriotism means screwing the average voter so the plutocrats of this dreadful corporatocracy can grow unfettered. Regulations for the general health and well being of our citizens is very much secondary to profits. Safe working conditions, drinking water, air quality and the environment should never interfere with the bottom line. Any patriotic American knows the price to pay for cheap affordable natural gas obtained from hydraulic fracturing of the earth is worth it, no matter how flammable your tap water may be. Anyway, that’s the price you pay for supporting a gay uncle who insists he wants to get gay married. Your pastors have told you this is wrong, and no matter how much you want him to be happy, it just can’t be because he doesn’t fit under their interpretation of the Bible. You are forced to believe in a lie, and help perpetuate the myth that a few of us must live in shame. With their insane fundamentalist values, we have a self-perpetuating system of failure for the masses with a system that fosters prosperity at obscene levels for the Patrician class.

Millions of Mormons believe in the White Horse Prophecy which states that when the constitution is hanging by a thread, a Mormon on a shining WHITE horse will save us all. Willard has denied this, but it is deep within his self conscious. Sunday school and Mormon consecrations have ingrained this concept far within his “yet to be found” core of principles. Ok, that’s not fair. He has one principle and one only: To further the business of Mormon Inc. and garner as much power for his cronies and the Sheldon Adelsons of the world, first and foremost. This is what god would want. This type of thinking is very apparent in his utter omission of the word Veteran in his 59 page economic plan. I’m sure you’re not worried yet, but know that one simple conveniently staged Persian Gulf Operation could unexpectedly go awry, and will thrust us into another war of preemptive choice. The SNAFU that will be Iran, aka Sheldon’s War, will be far greater than any of our 2 Bush wars combined. Iran is a yak of a different color my friends. Perhaps all the teabaggers assume I R A Q is much like I R A N and it will not prove too difficult for our mighty military. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

After all, we’ve gotta “fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here.’ We have to protect the Tagg Romney’s of the world from serving his country militarily when he had a higher calling to further the business bottom line of the Mormon Cult’s registration numbers. Willard even said, Tagg has a higher calling than country, his calling is to Joseph Smith or Brigham Young or whoever the polygamist de jour is to whom they are shelling out their tithes. They wish to allow Mormon Inc, Christian mega churches, and the Vatican (to name a few) the ability to put asses in the seats to maintain CONTROL over their followers. This is why atheists are so loathed by these people. We are foreign, think differently and represent a curious absence of fear of the unknown. This is troubling to fright-ridden zealots who can’t fathom a world that just “IS” and isn’t manipulated behind the scenes by an all powerful sky-daddy. We are simply not going to be duped in that manner. It’s not in our nature.

Perhaps a strategy yet untapped by us thinking liberals and progressives is the turning of fundamentalists and members of the LDS cult against each other. There is a deep seeded mistrust of the Utah gang and it is reciprocated rather seriously as well in the Beehive state towards those who are not “our kind”. Both religions, especially Mormonism, were very much into gender-based and racial discrimination. In 2012, there are still mass amounts of bigotry in the Mormon and the Christian systems of control. Because we lack a similar system of control and submission, we atheists are perceived to be immoral, yet are far less likely to engage in detrimental behavior to other human beings. We must hold fast in our unity to eventually triumph in the social/religious spectrum. Maybe we can evolve towards a day where an Atheist holds the office of the presidency, like they have in Australia. Wouldn’t that shake things up a bit? Maybe it would force the “pro-lifers” to actually be in favor of those already born!

We seem to hold the elite in the utmost regard, as they are perceived to be the most virtuous and successful in a society which rewards achievement, not the effort put forth my so many hard working Americans. Funny thing is, they convince voters to vote this way by appealing to their basal emotions of fear, suspicion and hate and it works phenomenally. It is our duty as citizens to make sure they don’t get away with stealing another election. It is just too important. I don’t need three more Justice Scalias on the bench. It will bring back the even more United Fascist States of America. After all, his daddy was the head of the Fascist-American Party back in the early 1930′s, so why not? Take a friend and VOTE! It’s our only hope to beat them at their own game. Don’t fall into the Stockholm Syndrome trap.

Romney and Ryan Believe Women are Nothing More than Breeders

16 Aug

If you are a proponent of women’s rights and support the progress the fairer sex has made in the last hundred years, this GOP ticket should positively terrify you. Willard Romney, although his views have shifted like tectonic plates under the Pacific Ocean, has aligned himself with the “pro-life movement” which ironically includes zero gun control, capital punishment and an utter disregard for the poorest and sickest among us. His choice of a running mate, Paul Ryan, appeals to the insane misogynistic faction of the Republican Party, more so than Governor Romney. The combination of the two simply drags women back to the days of second class citizenship, with the probable resurgence of back-alley abortions.

The GOP ticket: setting women back 100 years

Romney is no stranger to the submissiveness of women. The Mormon Church has an unspoken rule that not only must a woman obey her husband, but also every priesthood holder. In theory alone, this is incredibly demeaning to women. Sue Emmett, former member of the LDS Church is the great-great-grandaughter of Brigham Young, one of the original founders of the faith. She attributes Willard’s general sense of entitlement to Mormon traditions. “Mitt is a product not only of his wealth, but of an organization that gives men power when they are 12 years old….that is when boys are ordained with the priesthood. It is a big moment in a Mormon male’s childhood.” As we all know, Mitt was once very liberal, even “more liberal than Ted Kennedy” on certain issues. Since garnering the GOP nomination, he has turned far right, naturally siding with the crazies of the party. He said he will “end Planned Parenthood” thereby destroying many poor women’s sole outlet for contraception and gynecological care. As Emmett said, “Mitt has been groomed to become president from a very young age…I think his father [George Romney, who ran for president in 1968] would have made a much better president. In many ways the church was more benign then than it is now” Apparently, the Mormon Church has gone to the right of Pat Robertson, with their massive funding of Proposition 8 Legislation and similarly conservative ideology, they are obviously not evolving like the rest of America is when it comes to social issues.

The most well-known founders of Mormonism, Brigham Young, Joseph Smith and Miles Park Romney (Willard’s great-great-grandfather) were all polygamists. The practice was designed to populate the earth with as many of God’s chosen Mormon children as possible. To achieve this end, men took several wives, whose primary value was their child-bearing ability. There was (and still is) nothing more devastating to a Mormon than infertility. Women are meant to serve their husbands and provide them with progeny. This attitude has not evolved very much from the mid nineteenth century, much like the Republican Party.

What’s more remarkable than Romney’s antiquated feminist views are those of his feudalistic running mate, Paul Ryan. Ryan is the sponsor of the Fetal Personhood Bill which would give fetuses (or even zygotes) the same rights as any citizen. Ryan also supported a highly controversial bill that Democrats nicknamed the “Let Women Die Act,” which would have allowed hospitals to refuse to provide a woman emergency abortion care, even if her life is on the line. This type of radical religious thinking is so insane, even the most religious state in the nation, Mississippi utterly rejected the personhood amendment. In fact, a few states have attempted this antediluvian measure only to be handed a resounding defeat. But there is a terrific irony in the selection of this medieval running mate. Ryan would like to make the very in-vitro fertilization Romney’s son, Tagg employed to have some of his children illegal via this personhood insanity. I wonder if Willard will maintain his position on the matter, given his family’s circumstances. I suppose it comes down to what will get him elected. He doesn’t need to have core principles if he has executive power. After all, the rich and privileged allow for exceptions for themselves.

Unfortunately, there are a myriad issues on which the Romney/Ryan ticket shift to the right of Mussolini, but in the area of women’s health and equality, they are especially abhorrent. Those Republican women in control of their mental faculties should be very aware of the destructive duo’s harsh attitudes towards female equality and healthcare before selecting the (R) in this crucial presidential race. We all know of a few women in the GOP who believe these two lunatics have the right idea, but should these women represent the rest of America? Let’s hope not! I strongly doubt informed women will go along with this barbaric thinking.

Nothing Bundt Cakes Joins Chick-Fil-A in Supporting Right Wing Politics

5 Aug

I was watching the Olympics yesterday, like many here were doing on a hot Vegas late afternoon and I happened to see a teaser for what the local NBC affiliate deemed newsworthy. Featured was a picture of a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, a franchised store based out of Las Vegas and now to found in over thirteen states, California having over thirty. The card on the cake was a direct insult to President Obama’s out of context quote “you didn’t build that.” The Mormon-owned store, never open anywhere on Sunday (because no one eats cake on that day), proudly displayed a card saying “you didn’t bake this”, on the President’s birthday of all days! Obviously they support Willard Romney with this regurgitation of his campaign’s latest blatant LIE. I have written extensively how the Mormon community supports their own to a fault. This bakery is just another example.

Nothing Bundt Hate in Las Vegas, Nevada

Let me guess, Nothing Bundt Cakes, you guys grew the sugar cane, the wheat flour and built all the roads to make and transport your products? I’m also wondering if you had much to do with laying down the phone lines your business uses quite frequently. Business in America is a collective effort. This is what President Obama meant and we are all socialist to a degree, like it or not. Myself and my family have patronized this store for years. Now you have definitely lost our business henceforth.

Chick-Fil-A started a controversy when CEO Dan Cathy stated with his biblical references how we are far too audacious to challenge God’s laws on the definition of marriage. Actually, Dan, there is no place in the bible that favors one form of marriage over another . But this pronouncement brought out all the GOPs hate merchants whose love for Type 2 Diabetes is greater than their love for human rights.

It seems I’m running out of businesses I can patronize. The moment I learn of a corporation’s unsavory political positions, I honestly can’t bring myself to spend a single dime in one of these establishments. It’s been several years since I learned of Wal-mart’s practice of paying employees so little most are still on welfare to simply survive, and I’ve yet to step foot in one.

Wal-Mart pays workers so little, most employees are on welfare

Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores in the USA and Mexico have engaged in truly abhorrent treatment of all their lower echelon employees who do the majority of the grunt work. It’s pathetic how selfish the CEOs are to deny the workers healthcare and living wages while taking in record profits off virtual slave-labor.

The great taste or convenience a business provides is far less important than their treatment of humanity. I will easily find other replacements for these stores who feel its important for the public to know who they support politically. Willard Romney’s Bain Capital has a vast history of destroying lives in exchange for obscene profits, just like the aforementioned corporations. I refuse to be a vehicle for hate to flourish and I hope more will join me in boycotting these right-wing businesses permanently.
